This was a good week. Finally getting to the making of the Pecha Kucha was a little bit relief and a little bit exciting. Right after the first week I started thinking about what I would do for a digital story. I was really hoping we would be able to choose our story line. Choosing just the right pictures wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be, and a couple of times it turned out that the exact picture that I wanted was actually part of the video we took and I wasn’t able to use it. But I had fun doing it.
The rubric exercise was a good thing for me. I’ll need to be able to do this next year. Checking out the examples was very helpful. I used bits and pieces from a few different rubrics to make the one for this class.
Evaluating materials was helpful. Finding out the differences in different kinds of cameras and projectors will be put to use I’m sure. Honestly, I probably won’t remember what the differences are, but I’ll have an idea what to look for. I didn’t get to the software yet, but I plan on doing it yet this week.

it sounds like you are well on your way to completing all tasks, Wanda. Like you, I feel like I have learned a great deal in this class. The fun will really begin when we start actually applying ideas with students. I know they will find many of these activities as motivating as I did.
ReplyDeleteSee you on Wednesday, weather willing.
Hey Wanda,
ReplyDeleteSounds like things are going well. Finding the right pictures was a challenge for me as well. I tried to find free ones and I had a picture in my mind of what I wanted. It wasn't always there. I also had to scan some old photos and I felt they weren't as clear as I wanted.
As for the cameras and projectors, many are similar but some of the reviews may show you that there is something about one that will benefit your library and staff. Many are not reviewed for school use and you will have to look with a LMS's eyes. You should be able to see those needs with the experiences you have had in your library.
See ya Wednesday!
